Written Translation

Translation at Mirora

Translation is a set of processes to render source language content into target language content in written form. The original content is a written source with respect to these translations performed by translators. Translation, which includes sub-components such as literary translation, technical translation, and commercial translation, etc., consists of multi-stage processes. These processes can be summarized as Translation, Editing and Proofreading. Finalization of the translation depends on successful completion of all these processes. If any of the processes are skipped or fail to be performed, the result will be a deprofessionalized output of translation. At Mirora, all these processes are completely implemented and documented. The translation, which has gone through all these comprehensive processes, becomes perfect at the end of its long journey.

Translation Stages

The First Stage: Translation

Translation at Mirora begins with translators who are specialists in their field translating the entire text into the target language in accordance with the given instructions and rules. Success and acceptance criteria are determined at the very beginning of each translation process. This checklist, which is filled in online by the translator during each job delivery, makes the translation perfect. A short list of these conditions is provided as follows:

  • On time delivery
  • Compatibility with spelling rules
  • Accuracy
  • Completeness of target text
  • Checking the target text for any notes, comments or remarks not found in the source file and added to the target text by mistake
  • Consistency of file name and format
  • Preserving page design, fonts and any other similar characteristics of the source file
  • Meeting the expectations of the client, target audience and its culture

The Second Stage: Editing

At the second stage of translation, the target language content is usually revised by another person who has not translated it. The editor reviews the target language content based on the source language content. At Mirora, we provide professional translation services; the editor checks, and if necessary, corrects the translation, based on the “Translation Services Supplier Check List”. The target language content that passes the editing process successfully will be deemed to have passed all the above-mentioned acceptance criteria.

The Third Stage: Proofreading

At this stage, the target language content is examined again for the last time by the proofreader. The proofreader checks and, if necessary, corrects the translation against the source language content. The required corrections are made. Common grammatical errors, style and wording errors, and misspelling are corrected. Translation formatting is checked for its suitability for the agreed purpose. Corrections and changes made as well as errors found as a result of the control are reported in the correspondence at the time of delivery.  The translation, which has gone through the last proofreading process, should have an appropriate style and fluency and fulfill all the acceptance requirements. Mirora performs translation services through these comprehensive stages.
